At Pyongyang International Airport, General Secretary Tô Lâm was warmly received by Kim Song Nam, Alternate Member of the Political Bureau and Head of the International Department of the Workers’ Party of Korea, along with Deputy Foreign Minister Im Chon In. North Korean girls presented flowers, and local children waved flags to greet the Vietnamese delegation.
The official Vietnamese delegation includes senior leaders such as Politburo members Lê Minh Hưng, Phan Đình Trạc, Nguyễn Duy Ngọc, Đỗ Văn Chiến, Nguyễn Xuân Thắng, General Phan Văn Giang, and General Lương Tam Quang, as well as leaders of the Government, the National Assembly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This visit holds significant political and diplomatic meaning, reaffirming the importance both nations place on their traditional friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on January 31, 1950, Vietnam and North Korea have consistently supported each other in their struggles for national liberation and socialist construction.
The visit by General Secretary Tô Lâm is expected to open a new chapter of cooperation, further deepening and strengthening the long-standing friendship between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and the DPRK.
