Ministry of Public Security Commends Police for Swift Arrest in Dong Nai Triple Murder Case

According to the letter, the incident occurred on October 2 in Hamlet 6, Dak Nhau Commune, when a violent and reckless suspect used a gun to kill three people from the same family and rob their property, sparking public outrage and fear. Despite limited information from the crime scene, police forces coordinated closely and launched an intensive investigation immediately after receiving the report.

After just over two days of pursuit, by 3:30 p.m. on October 5, the suspect was successfully arrested along with the firearm and multiple pieces of evidence.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long described the operation as “an exceptional achievement, demonstrating the determination, responsibility, intelligence, creativity, and sharp investigative skills of the police forces.” He emphasized that the successful resolution of the case helps deter and prevent crime, maintain public order, and strengthen public trust in the police force.

On behalf of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security and the Ministry’s leadership, Senior Lieutenant General Long congratulated and commended all officers and soldiers involved. He also requested the Dong Nai Provincial Police to promptly consolidate the evidence and strictly prosecute the suspect in accordance with the law.

He stated:

“I hope all officers will continue to build on this success, achieving even greater accomplishments to ensure a safe and peaceful society for the people.”

Later that afternoon, the Dong Nai Provincial Police held a press conference to provide details about the investigation into this particularly serious case of murder and robbery.

Earlier, on the morning of October 3, residents discovered three victims—Mr. Do Duy T. (47, the homeowner), Mrs. Chu Hong H. (48, his wife), and Do Tien Th. (11, their grandson)—dead at their residence, which also served as the Thien Hanh Agricultural Produce Trading Agency in Dak Nhau Commune.

Following an extensive investigation, authorities arrested suspect Le Sy Tung (33, from Thanh Hoa Province, residing in former Binh Phuoc Province) on suspicion of murder and robbery.

In his initial statement to investigators, Tung shockingly claimed that he committed the killings as part of a “mission assigned to him in a video game.” Police are continuing to investigate the motive and psychological factors behind this confession.
